We used a method called Single Transferable Vote (STV) to select the top 3 time slots based on everyone’s ranked preferences.
Droop quota: 5 (based on 19 valid ballots)
Elected time slots (in order):
1. [2-3 hours after Opening Reset] (elected in round 1)
2. [1 hour after Opening Reset] (elected in round 2)
3. [4-5 hours after Opening Reset] (elected in round 2)
Here’s how it worked:
Each person ranked their top three choices from the available time slots.
The system counted everyone's first-choice votes.
To win, a time slot needed to reach a quota — this is the number of votes needed to be fairly elected based on how many people voted.
If no slot met the quota in a round:
The one with the fewest votes was eliminated.
Votes for the eliminated slot were then transferred to each voter’s next available choice.
This continued until three time slots reached the quota and were elected.
Finally, we took a decision that because we could only have 2 Summons, we thought it would be fair to combine the 1 hour and 2-3 hour slots to become 2 hours after reset.
